Sorry, but when Perry, a city league team from Pittsburgh, beat Berwick back in 1989, George Curry accused the officials of being bought by the other team. This false accusation caused George Curry, and rightfully so, to be put on probation. Then there were the illegal recruiting violations that he was suspected of. Yet, here he is preaching team, discipline, character, attending church, being in bed by 10:00pm, and running laps if you’re 1 minute late, and all of that other stuff just to look good in front of the camera. WHAT A JOKE. I’m not a judge or jury but the man wasn’t perfect, but yet they make him out to be here. When he messes up, Curry got a free pass but the kids had to run laps. That’s a double standard.

Great work putting these games online but as someone who does a lot of sports video work... adjust the tracking and use free editing software to get rid of the distortion artifact at the bottom of the screen. As someone who used to live in Northeastern PA... I found the announcer's opening line with the words "beautiful downtown Scranton" really funny.

Why is the #1 team playing on the road against the #2 team? It’s a championship game so shouldn’t the #1 team be hosting this game? One of the best high school fitness games I’ve ever seen. Both teams played their asses off.

Which Berwick team was better 94 or 95??? I’m asking because Sharon had a kid named Elmarco Jackson, he started and played against Berwick in the 94 title game as a Jr, I would have loved to see him against them this year but he was at Glenn Mills before heading off to Temple U

PA football in the 80's and 90's. Most teams just ran the ball. Teams that were able to have a passing game with it, were hard to beat. Teams that only could run, would always end up playing a team that would stuff the box and dare them to pass.

It's really amazing the success this small area in Pennsylvania has had. Berwick, Mount Carmel Area and Southern Columbia all come from a 30 mile radius. Also if MCA and Southern didn't play in the same class over the last decade + MCA would have way more than 6 state championships.

That quad solo during wipeout is amazing. I’m one of two current quad Tom players of valley view marching band and I still have to do it on one drum because it’s a fast solo and hard to play.

What a great way to honor a great man. It was great to have played for him and be part of his first state championship team. He said at the end of that game “This is yours for life” he was correct!!

Thank you so much for posting this. I've been dying to see '83 Berwick film. I'm 45 and from Maine - my dad bought the USA Today every single day when I was a kid and so "Berwick" and "George Curry" were familiar names to me even growing up in another part of the country!

Curry would never get away with praying before a game in this disgusting world we live in today. He’d be ousted by the corrupt government.

I visited Berwick in the mid 80’s with some friends who used to live there. That entire town eats, sleeps and breathes Berwick Bulldogs. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was pretty cool
